Developing Better Oil Painting Skills with Matt Kania (Morning Session)

Students that have basic oil painting skills will benefit greatly from this four week workshop. Each week students will focus on advanced techniques of traditional oil painting. Matt will demonstrate each painting method and explain the importance of adding these skills to your oil painting repertoire. Methods covered will include: painting with a palette knife, creating an oil rendering in grisaille, building color and luminosity with glazing, mixing colors directly on the canvas, and painting alla prima! For this class, it is recommended that students have previous painting experience, or have participated in one of Matt’s previous oil painting classes.
