DOCENT PROGRAM

We need your help in the DAI galleries. There are available docent volunteer slots every weekend, 10AM-5PM.
Please reach out to info@duluthartinstitute.org if you are interested in setting up for regular docent hours.
Docents supervise the galleries to ensure visitors and the artwork are safe. The Duluth Art Institute gathers volunteer docents during special events when there is more visitors expected than the average day. Docents:
  •  Welcome visitors with a smile and warm greeting
  •  Remind guests to not touch the artwork and supervise children at all times
  •  Remind guests that food and beverage are not allowed in the galleries
  •  Maintain a clean and tidy space within the galleries
  •  Respond to questions

    BECOME AN ART HOUND

The Duluth Art Institute is looking for art enthusiasts passionate about bringing local art to the front of mind by becoming an Art Hound.

Art Hounds is a weekly segment on MPR News, in which three people talk about arts events in Minnesota they think our listeners should check out. The goal of Art Hounds is to raise awareness of what an amazingly rich cultural scene we have here in Minnesota and inspire people to try out new things.

Art Hounds are members of the Minnesota arts community who look beyond their own work to highlight what's exciting in local art on Minnesota Public Radio.

    Accepted Highlights:

MPR is focusing on art by Minnesotans that can be enjoyed safely, including events arranged for social distancing, performances streaming online, and other work enjoy from home. The only stipulation is that it can't be your own work or work you're professionally, financially or personally associated with in any way.
