Develop better plein air (outdoor) oil painting skills with Matt. Class will meet in beautiful outdoor locations in the Duluth area. Students will learn methods for starting and finishing oil paintings entirely on location. Techniques in paint mixing, brush handling, and learning to observe will be explored. Matt demonstrates and works one-on-one with students to develop lasting impressions on canvas.
Some painting experience is recommended. Students will need to supply their own materials and easel (see Materials List). The DAI has a limited supply of canvas and paint for students to utilize if needed. Please contact Emma Spooner at espooner@duluthartinstitute.org if you need help accessing supplies!
***Proof of vaccination is required to participate in this class. On the first day of class students must present their vaccine card (a copy of it is okay) as well as a form of identification. Students are not required to wear masks outdoors when they can be distanced.
