FOR THE LOVE OF WINTER SERIES: SNOWSHOEING AND PHOTOGRAPHY WITH VERN NORTHRUP

March 6, 2021 at 12:00pm (Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to put snowshoes on)

Location: Sawyer, MN (address given to registrants)

Description: Snowshoe with Vern Northrup and learn to see the beauty in winter. Northrup is an accomplished photographer using only his cell phone to capture the beauty around him. Interpreter, educator, and learner are three words that describe the lens Northrup looks through when photographing the world. Northrup captures the setting of where he grew up, creating a nostalgia for those familiar with the area and a curiosity for those who aren’t. He uses photography as a tool to educate both himself and the view about the rhythm of nature, the preservation of tradition, and the relationship between resilience and sustainability, Northrup recognizes the ability of the land to act as a narrator and uses photography to reveal the story in landscapes. Northrup invites you to the sugar bush to snowshoe, practice mindfulness, learn about the land, and start to see the details of winter in a different way.

Cost: $40

Snowshoe rental has been generously donated by CSS Outdoor Pursuit.
