Teen Multi-Media Summer Art Camp: The Nature of Place (recommended for ages 12 and up)

July 13th-17th 1pm to 4pm Online Via Zoom (will send meeting link upon registration)

$150 member  $200 non-member * a limited supply of specialty materials are included in the cost of camp, campers are expected to provide some basic supplies

$75 non-refundable material and registration deposit due upon registration. Full payment due two weeks prior to camp start. Refunds not issued within two weeks of camp start. 

During this camp, you will create unique works of art that speak of the flora, fauna and geography of the north shore of Lake Superior and our surrounding landscapes. Campers will combine their creativity with nature to grow a deeper connection to their natural surroundings. Instructor Logan Kerkhof will guide campers through painting, printmaking and sculptural projects, providing technical demonstrations, instructions and feedback. Students will spend time plein air painting, playing with watercolor, making lino-cut prints, and creating a mobile with objects found from nature.  Campers will go on a virtual studio visit mid-week with a guest artist!   

A limited amount of specialty supplies will be included in the cost of camp.  Campers are expected to provide the basic materials listed below:

-Pencils, pens, markers, crayons (all of your favorite drawing materials)

-Scissors

-Ruler

-Corrugated cardboard

-Newspaper

-Paper or plastic plate to use as palette

-Cups for water

-Foraged natural materials such as plants, leaves, flowers, rocks, pine cones, etc. 


Provided materials From DAI:

-Acrylic paint

-Brushes

-Canvas

-Lino block

-Lino tool

-Ink

-String

-Printing/watercolor paper

-Rubber brayer


Camper supply kits with specialty items need to be picked up from DAI Lincoln Park Building.  Pick up dates, TBD. (will send email upon registration)
